1860: C. Allen, field assistant to A. R. Wallace, spent approximatively six months on Misool at Lelinta and on the north coast.
1860: C. B. H. Baron von Rosenberg collected birds at Lelinta between July 4-9 (where he met Allen), from August 20-25 at Waigama, and again at Lelinta on August 28-29.
c. 1862: A small number of birds were collected on Misool under the supervision of E. Benjamins, a health officer of the Dutch colonial East-Indies army.
1867: D. S. Hoedt collected on Misool between May 1 and August 18. Assisted by several hunters he secured the largest collection ever from the island: 938 bird skins besides a number of specimens in spirit.
1876: J. E. Teijsmann worked at Waigama and Kasim between August 19-30.
1883: five native hunters from the yacht 'Marchesa' visited Misool during the last months of that year.
1893: De Clercq & Schmeltz
1900: Ornithologist H. Kühn visited Misool in January-February.
1910: Ornithologist F. K. Baron van Dedem spent a week at Waigama in July.
1911: Ornithologist Dr. O. D. Tauern collected on Misool from August to October.
1927: A few specimens from Misool reached Europe through the dealers Schlüuter and Mass.
1937: (1954, 1960) Ornithologist Dr. S. D. Ripley collected on Misool and off-shore Schildpad Islands in October-November.
1948: Dr. M. A. Lieftinck made a small collection of birds during entomological investigations in September-October.
1953: (1993) Ethnologist Maurenbrecher. Misool district (Waigama, Tomoelol, Tikoes, Meoskapal, Lilinta, Lenmalaas, Jelloe, Gam, Fakal, Biga)
1954: (1937, 1960) Dr. S. D. Ripley collected on Misool and his assistant J. Khakiaj continued collecting in later years.
1960: (1937, 1954) Dr. S. D. Ripley collected on Misool again.
