Set up of the building site on Batbitim Island

Objectives : |
Regarding scientific
matters:
- Preparing the marine area for the Reefballs
- Analysing the marine currents
- Measuring waves and tides impacts
- Priority grafts identification
Regarding pedagogy
matters:
- following up actions in schools and villages
- invitation to the big ceremony for
the launching of the project
- preparing with local
representatives of a traditional ceremony, ADAT, in order to obtain the kind
agreement of the ancestors
Regarding logistics
matters :
- Set up of the building area on Batbitim Island Mise en place de la zone de chantier sur Batbitim , taking care that there are no environmental impacts
(especially pollutant emissions)
- Delivery of the moulds
and building materials
- Production of a first set of 30 reefballs
- Balls drying (4 days)
- Dry storage on Batbitim Island

Big party and ADAT ceremony for the launching of the project

Objectives : |
Welcome of a hundred participants for a day on
Batbitim - Morning : introduction to the Reefball Programme with the support of TNC- Noon : ADAT ceremony and buffet (BBQ)- Afternoon: Set up of a first of a first set of balls
with the kind help of the villagers . Snorkelling around the balls, the masks will be provided by the
collecting programme enforced by Precious Planet.

leaflets, including Indonesian leaflets, …
